Congratulations to SHDHS Junior Chefs, Sarah Banks & Maia Menzer! The pair took FIRST PLACE in the local regional championship for the Jr. Chef Competition. They will now head to Louisville in August for the state competition at the Kentucky State Fair.
The pair is part of the new Crusader Culinary Club and this was their first competition! The ladies’ award winning recipe was a chicken BBQ flatbread using certain local ingredients.
Sarah and Maia were sponsored by the Diocese of Covington School Lunch Program. Winners at the State Fair are eligible for $16,000 per student in scholarships to Sullivan University. The competition is sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Farm to School Program.
