Thomas More College junior midfielder Laura Felix, SHDHS Class of 2013, has been named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America.
Felix, a NSCAA First Team Scholar All-America selection, was also named a NSCAA Division III All-America earlier this month.
A Second Team Division III All-America selection and First Team Division III Great Lakes Region honoree in 2015, Felix was named a First Team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) selection after finishing third on the team in scoring with 13 points on five goals, including one game-winner, and three assists. She also helped the Saints limit their opposition to just four goals while posting 18 shutouts.
Thomas More (19-1-2, 8-0-1 PAC) won its fourth-straight PAC regular season title and fifth-straight PAC Championship Tournament title, while advancing to the Division III Championship’s sectional semifinals for the third-straight year. Thomas More ended its regular season ranked eighth in the country.
Felix maintains a 3.97 grade-point average (GPA) while majoring in cellular and molecular biology.
To be named to a Scholar All-America team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all matches and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.
