The annual Playing for a Purpose game will take place next Friday September 22 at Thomas More College. Doors will open at 4:15 with the Freshman starting at 5:00, JV at 6:00, and Varsity at 7:30.

There will be NO pre-sale tickets sold, so get there early as this game WILL SELL OUT! The fire marshal will close the doors once we reach code. Last year, doors were closed around 6:15/6:30. Split the Pot will be sold for all 3 games and our very own Billy Sarge will be getting the crowd hyped with his fantastic music!

Playing for a Purpose t-shirts will be sold at lunch for $10.00 starting Wednesday, September 13. Please make all checks payable to SHDHS. We will be selling youth sizes in addition to the adult sizes. We just received the T-shirts from Notre Dame Academy on Tuesday, September 12 so the chance of re-order is very slim with the game being next Friday. These will sell out so please send in your money ASAP.

A note from Coach Shawn Schwarz, a breast cancer survivor: If you have never been to this event I highly recommend you come on out to support, not only the girls but also the women who are survivors and the women who are currently fighting. I have been cancer free for 2 years now and this past September 2 marked the three-year anniversary of my surgery. This now my Cancer Birthday, as I was given a second chance. I am proud to stand with these woman as a survivor and sure hope you feel the love in the room as we stand. This game is so much more than the win at the end. It is a community coming together to help fight! We as teachers are always asked to donate money to various organizations, our free time etc.. but as teachers that is what we do. If you have plans that night, say a prayer and, at the very least, please consider buying a t-shirt to show your support. Please come out and see our students cheer, dance and support! It is an amazing atmosphere that will not disappoint!

As always, thank you so much for your continued support in helping us to find a cure for Breast Cancer!
