We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taken time out of their busy schedules over the years in order to make the SHDHS Bingo such a great success. Please note that, each year, the financial success of Bingo DIRECTLY benefits each and every SHDHS family by offsetting the rising cost of providing a quality, college-preparatory Catholic education. Without your help, this MAJOR fundraiser would absolutely not be possible and tuition rates would increase significantly.
We also want to thank the many volunteers who go above and beyond in giving of their time and talent in order to organize and run the SHDHS Bingo each week, including Mr. Jim Sallee (current parent and Bingo Manager), Mrs. Michelle Binkowski (past parent and Front Door Manager), Mrs. Krista Kahmann (past parent and Bingo Bookkeeper), and Mr. Dan Hukle (past parent and Asst. Bingo Manager). Did you know that these four individuals alone give nearly 2,000 hours of their own time each year to organize and run all of our Bingos, directly benefiting every student at SHDHS—and all of this on a 100% volunteer basis?
With all of this in mind, would you and your family please prayerfully consider giving your time and talent on at least four (4) nights during the upcoming Bingo calendar year (September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017) to support this endeavor? This works out to around 20 hours per family per school year. Your four (4) nights can be divided among any adult family members (father, mother, grandparent, etc.). For example, if a husband and wife choose to work on the same night, this would count as two (2) nights worked. For each Bingo shift worked by someone in your family, your student(s) will receive an Out of Uniform pass to be used on a set day the following month (or once school begins for families working during summer months).
This year, we are again using a scheduling tool called VolunteerSpot to manage our Bingo volunteer schedules. VolunteerSpot is FREE and enables us to quickly mobilize and coordinate volunteers. This management tool makes it easy for you, our parents and supporters, to join together and say YES to supporting SHDHS. With VolunteerSpot, there is no waiting for approvals and passwords, no software to install…just easy, free scheduling that will help you make a difference for our Crusaders. You can now sign-up to help at Bingo through VolunteerSpot in 3 easy steps:
- Click here to go to our invitation page on VolunteerSpot.
- Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)
- Sign up! Choose your spots – VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!
With VolunteerSpot, volunteers are NOT required to have a registered VolunteerSpot account with a password. Instead, they can sign-up using only their email address. Please note VolunteerSpot does NOT share email addresses with anyone.
Many of you may already be using VolunteerSpot for other activities (we know of several recreational sports teams, as well some of our feeder grade schools, that are currently using VolunteerSpot to manage parent volunteer opportunities). If so, you can easily manage ALL activities associated with your email address by choosing to create a registered VolunteerSpot account, signing in, and clicking MyInvitations to view sign-up invitations and assignments. Unfortunately, we do not have a “back-up” list of volunteers available on any given night to work Bingo. Therefore, if you are unable to make your scheduled night we ask that you please seek out a replacement. This ensures that our other Bingo runs smoothly without placing extra burdens on our other scheduled volunteers.
We thank you in advance for giving your time to support our Crusaders and for making a real difference at SHDHS.
